Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®

At West Ridgewood Dental Professionals, PA we offer Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Botox®. These

injectable neuromodulators are commonly used to combat wrinkles in the face and alleviate

jaw muscle discomfort caused by TMJ Disorders. This non-surgical approach temporarily

softens frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet, deep eyebrow furrows and other facial

wrinkles. It can also minimize the appearance of a gummy smile and treat facial asymmetry.

How is the procedure performed?

A thorough consultation will be performed by your treating provider in order to understand

your desired treatment goals. Once established, your doctor will expertly inject into the

desired areas to treat wrinkles, facial creases, or jaw muscle discomfort. The treatment takes

approximately 15 minutes and is done through a series of tiny injections. No anesthetic is

required. You may be asked to squint, frown, raise your eyebrows, smile, or clench your teeth

so that your muscle interactions can be assessed and targeted.

How do I know how much I need?

This will be determined during your consultation. Every patient is different.

Will it hurt?

It is relatively painless, but you may feel a slight pinch.

What is the recovery?

Patients should avoid laying down or bending over for a few hours after the procedure. Avoid

rubbing the treated areas. Strenuous physical activity should be avoided for 24 hours after

treatment.

What results can be expected?

It takes approximately three to ten days to see improvement in wrinkles and other facial

creases. You may be asked to return for a follow-up appointment two weeks post treatment.

What are the risks and side effects?

Although Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® injections are minimally invasive, it is possible that

small bruises, red marks, or swelling around the injection sites may occur. In some cases,

serious reactions may occur.

How long does it last?

The results of your treated area should maintain their improved appearance for approximately

three to six months, or longer.

Can it be reversed in the short term?

No, however muscle activity will return fully in two to four months.

How much does it cost?

The price varies according to how much product is required for each patient. Every patient is

different.
